The peace
of a loving home is broken by a single knock upon the door. Eleanor must face
an unwanted visitor from the past that could forever change her family's
future.
Melody is
confused why Pa and Ma no longer feel safe and have started using the word
"consequences." Could it all have to do with the man named Paul who
looks a lot like her?
My
review
This is the
first book I read by this author and although I’m not a huge fan of kids,
Melody is one of my favorite that I met in a novel. The story is a lot between
her mom, her dad and Paul, yet she’s the central point. For this reason, I
decided to give her my star. She’s talking like a little child, but she’s smart
and helps her parents a lot and she’s far from being annoying.
Eleanor is
in the second place. At the beginning, the reader could think: Oh no, not
another love triangle. I assure you, the relationship between Eleanor, Seth and
Paul is more about Melody and the history between them than Eleanor having difficulty
choosing between them. This is why I found this book so refreshing. I know, I enjoy
reading romance, but I appreciate when I read something new.
If you are
looking for a great story about a family with a complicated past without all
the relationship troubles, I recommend it to you. Friendship is also another
strong point because Paul and Seth were friends before, and they are close to
their brothers and sisters.
