Back Cover

Jamie Logan prefers one-night stands to the risk of hurting someone he loves. He's not willing to repeat the past. Years ago, his naïve attempts at dominance left his girlfriend bruised and frightened. Then, almost overnight and without a good-bye, she left town and he hasn’t seen or heard from her—until four months ago. Daniel Oliver wants something more. As members of the prestigious BDSM club known as The Vault and co-owners in a veterinary clinic, he hopes that one day he and Jamie will find that perfect woman to share, not just at the club but forever. He never thought she'd walk through their door. Or ask for his best friend.

Finally rid of her abusive ex and living on her own terms, Melissa Stanford has done everything she can to protect the only man she's ever loved. Only she never counted on Daniel, a man who ignites enough sizzle in her body to compete with her passion for her first love. In order for them to be happy, she must find a way to convince Jamie that he was never the monster he thought himself to be…

My review

This is the third book I read from this author and from this series. My favorite is still Brienna story, but I also enjoy knowing more about her best first Jamie who is a protagonist in book 3. He was so mysterious when he was talking about his secret life with Brienna that I was hoping to discover who he really was in this book. In this case, I think the author did a great job. Jamie is still mysterious, but the reader can finally get attached to him.

I recommend this book to a publish over 18 years old. Not only because it is a threesome, but some scenes happen in the BDSM club. I like to see characters doing things that I might never do; it is helps me to forget about real life and change my mind. Another thing that this author does perfectly.

I did not get attached to Melissa like I did to Brienna, but she is a sweet character. At the beginning, she was afraid to open herself to Jamie. Daniel is also a nice man, but we do not know much about him. He is Jamie’s co-worker and his partner when he goes to the club. I love that both are veterinarian. It is not a job we see a lot in novels.

The universe is not too harsh. I thought it was going to be dark and maybe the characters will go too far for me, but it is not the case. If you never read erotica, you will enjoy this book, since roman is the main trope.

Excerpt

Because they shared more than a love for animals. It didn’t hurt that their special touch with the furry four-legged creatures gave them a certain appeal to the two-legged variety. (p.2)

She’d wanted him to do naughty things to her back then. And he had. Then they’d both paid the price for their inexperience. And because she hadn’t known better, she’d repeated the experience over again, only with a man she actually loved, or a man who gave a shit about her, other than what he could do to her behind closed doors with nobody being the wiser. (p.12)

But she was no longer that girl. She may have taken a few stray paths in her life to get where she was now, but she’d grown up. She had a plan. She’d listened to her father twice. And after the second time, she decided to take control of her own life, which included making her own decisions. (p.58)
