Three years
after a night of grief, passion, and heartbreak, Wren never expected to see
Lawson again, let alone with her son by her side.
Still
haunted by war and battling PTSD, Lawson returns to Beaver Creek carrying more
than just emotional scars. He carries a love he’ll never let go of.
As secrets
unravel and old wounds reopen, Wren and Lawson must confront the truth about
that stormy night, the life they lost, and the chance they might still have.
Can love
heal what time and silence nearly destroyed, or will the past keep them apart
for good?
One night
changed everything. Three years later, the truth could rewrite their future.
My
review
This book
is a part of the Library Love Notes, however each novel has different
characters, so you can read them separately. It’s the first time I read this
author outside her short story in Mistletoe Moments and it was one of my
favorite from the anthology. I liked Notes of the Past. Not only because
it’s shown the importance of communication, but a lot of people can relate to
the two protagonists.
Hard to choose
a preferred character in this one. I will have to give my star to Noah, who is special,
and he adds a lot of cuteness and energy. Wren and Lawson share second place: Wren,
because she did all she could to give the best life to Noah with a broken heart.
She also thought she could love someone else, but I will let you guess if it’s
working or not. Lawson is more complex than I picture initially. He’s dealing
with PTSD and tries to settle for a normal existence, another thing that builds
an interesting word when you like to know more about the psychology of the
protagonist.
The book is
shorter than I imagine, but I think the characters lived and said all they
needed to make the story fascinating and I almost read it all at once because I
didn’t find a dull moment, and I was captivated from the first line till the
last.
