Questions
What do
you like the most about writing?
I like
exploring different topics and different kinds of characters. There is nothing
like a good character arc, and seeing somebody grow, and find their happily
ever after.
Why did
you decided to write romance?
I’ve
written romance, and in general really, from an early age. I had two books in
Croatian written by the time I was fourteen. They were YA romantasy books.
Later on, when I was in my 20s, I switched to writing contemporary romance, which
I’m now exclusively writing in English.
What advice
would you give to a new author?
Take your
time and get to know the business. Writing book is the hardest, and the easiest
part at the same time, but the real work starts once the book is done and you
have to find your readers and learn how to package and market the book. I’d
also suggest the new authors to have at least couple of books written before
publishing the first one. I always regrated not having some space to relax and have
the option to write ahead to take some of the pressure of delivering the next
book off my shoulders.
What
struggles did you met when you wrote your first book?
I didn’t
know anything about the market, and how to promote my book, or even what was
popular. Now I’m better at knowing my lane, what my brand is etc.
Do you
write with music? If yes, do you have a special song?
If I listen
to music, it’s usually classical music. I like singing along to my favorite
songs, so that can get really distracting. I do like listening to music and let
it inspire me when I’m plotting a certain book.
Which
one of your books will you recommend to a new reader?
It really
depends on what tropes one likes. Most of my books are interconnected
standalones and can be read as such. My favorite are Habit (brother’s teammate
& hockey) , Kiss To Shatter and Kiss To Salvage (brother’s best friend,
football, extremely heartbreaking), and It Should Have Been Us (second chance
football).
What are
your next projects?
I’m
currently working on my small town, single dad, surprise pregnancy romance Need
You To Choose Me. It’s book two in Bluebonnet Creek series. I’m also plotting
the rest of the series, as well as a couple new sports romance series.
