Questions

What do you like the most about writing? I love reading and exploring new worlds from the comfort of my couch. Writing is an overflow of that. My favorite part is dreaming about the characters. I see them moving and talking like they’re in a movie, a movie that I’m a part of.

Which struggles did you met when you wrote your first book? I thought up my first novel, Raven and Wolf, while working as a cashier at a shoe store. My parents said I had to go to college, so I got a degree in Creative Writing. For my senior project I wrote Raven and Wolf as a werewolf romance. My professors were surprised!

I finished the book soon after graduating, but gave up on the idea of ever being a published author. Part of it was that I didn’t think I could make a living as a writer, so why bother? I felt like I had to focus on building a career. But in November 2014, I had a hypnotherapy session that cleared away that belief and then I decided to go for it.

Raven and Wolf was the origin story of the Berserkers. Now there’s fifteen books in the Berserker series.

What do you like the most about writing a book with another author?

Collaborating, passing the manuscript back and forth (we use google docs) is really fun. We talk about the characters and flesh the story out together. Writing can be very lonely, so it’s fun to have a buddy!

When you’re struggling, the other person can help. When your co-writer’s down, you lift you up. Your strengths combine and you balance out each other’s weaknesses.

The best part is after the book is done, you have someone to celebrate with!

Do you write with music? If you, do you have a special song that motivate you?

I LOVE writing with music. I have a playlist for many of my book series. Check out my Spotify profile here: https://open.spotify.com/user/224gdchkowj5mi2fbozobkkny

I listen to a lot of angsty and atmospheric songs to write. Here’s the playlist for Vengeance is Mine (Mafia Brides book 2). I have general playlists for writing fight scenes or sad scenes. Music helps get me in the mood to write!

Which one of your books will you recommend to a new reader?

I have a few freebies you can jump into:

https://geni.us/RescuedBerserker

https://geni.us/royallybad

https://geni.us/MyHotMarineDaddy

If you like mafia romance, start with Revenge is Sweet, or if you like really dark and twisted romance, read Hades & Persephone.

For paranormal romance, read Alpha’s Temptation or Alpha’s Moon!

What advice will you give to a new author?

Read a bad book. A good book will inspire you, a bad book will motivate you. And if you write anything, you’re a writer. If you’re published in any way (self published, school newspaper), you’re a published writer. No one can take that from you, so claim it for yourself.

What are your next projects?

I’m working on a wild dark romance project about a billionaire stalker and the psychic detective he’s obsessed with. The fake title is “Kinky Batman.” Real title TBD.

I’m also working with Renee Rose on a new Bad Boy Alpha book called Alpha’s Claim.

Thanks for interviewing me!
