Judgment by Jennifer Carole Lewis

Review
This is the 4th book of the lalassu series and I have the feeling it’s getting darker in every book. Until now, the third book is my favorite because Cali and Joe are my favorite couple and I have to admit I would like to change my appearance when I want to. Even though every book is a stand alone, some characters are coming back especially in Book 4.

Now, the world knows about the Lalassu and I thought this is the book were the big action will start and I wasn’t disappointed. I like Bernie since book 1, she is so adorable (most of the time). Even though, she is sometime stubborn when she is fighting with her mom, she had good reasons. Martha is also a strong character who will do everything to protect her daughter, even though she is a little overprotective, I think she is an awesome mother and character. Lou and Lou are not an ordinary couple and it’s what I like about them. They did not fall in love in the first page and they took the time to build their trust even though the world around them was crashing.

I recommend this book to all the mothers who read this review and likes a good story with lot of actions.

Back cover
Martha Anderson gave up everything to help her daughter : her career, her marriage, and her life. She devoted years to Bernie’s therapy and medication, only to discover the voices that her daughter heard were real: the voices of the dead. For the last year, they’ve been hiding in Ekurru, a remote sanctuary in the Alaskan wilderness, to keep Bernie safe from those who would exploit her abilities. But no everyone has been so lucky. Other lalassu have been sent to an isolated evaluation camp. It was supposed to be temporary, but no one has been coming back.

Lou Charging Bull, a skin-walker and one of the Guardians of Ekurru, agrees to go with Martha to the camp so he can protect her and Bernie, surprising himself and his family. But ever since Martha came to Ekurru, she has been on the mind of its strange and silent protector. Alone even in his isolated community, Lou sees a hint of a kindred spirit in Martha. He sees something extraordinary in the ordinary woman who chooses to stand overwhelming forces.

Together the two of them will discover things are far more dangerous in the camp than anyone could have imagined. With human experimentation, restless prisoners and murderous ghost, finding the space to grow might seem like a hopeless goal. But Martha and Lou will find strength in each other that they will never knew was possible.
