Review
I found this book when I was looking to discover new authors
at Romancing the Falls. I do not regret
my choice. At first, I thought the story would be like After from Anna Todd. After
I read it, I think Zara is more like Anastasia Steele, but less annoying and
she was raised in a BDSM Community. I honestly found her character more
interesting than most of characters I read in popular books.
I though Zara was just a young woman who barely knows about
life, she surprised me at the end. She explained her reasons why she did not
listen to music or why she did not plan to go at the University before she met
Garrett. I like the fact that the author added songs in the story since it’s my
second passion after literature. It is nice to discover new songs or remember memories
from the songs I already knew.
Zara and Garrett are not falling in love in the first
chapter, even though they were supposed to get married in the community. It gives
us a chance to see their relationship grow and I think it’s a must in a romance
novel. Garrett might be a little overprotective, but I see how much he care
about his little one.
The two girls Zara met at the college are amazing. I wish I
had friends like these two. They never let her down and helped her to get
through her new life. I am also glad that the author added two of Garrett’s
family members, so it helped the reader to know more about this mysterious man.
The only thing I disliked of the story is how it written day
by day. I cannot count how many times the characters wake up and sleep. Some
parts need more action instead of description. The only good thing about the
descriptions is that I could easily imagine what Zara was wearing or even the
places the characters were going.
